I made the appointment here because it was on the list SLC Animal Services gave me when adopting my pup. The receptionist had her back turned to me and wouldn’t even turn around to look at me when speaking to me, she expected me to know she was talking to me from across the room. Although when other people walked in she even got up to greet them and had friendly conversation with them. Worst service I’ve ever had at any establishment. The other employees were just standing there looking at me and doing nothing, one girl (who actually looked like she was trying to help) asked the receptionist who was next and the receptionist told her to take someone else, the girl then asked her “is there anyone who is here and waiting?” And the receptionist ignored her and told her to take care of the other people . After 20 mins after my appointment time of waiting I just got up and left, I left feeling discriminated, ignored, and like I am not worth their time. I’ve sat on leaving this review for a while but every time I think back to how I was treated it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Just be careful who you give your money to.
Our dogs are our furry kids! And we trust only Alta Pet Hospital with our needs for doggies health and boarding, I wish they accept bigger dogs for grooming, I would use that service as well
Doggies are having blast while we are traveling
I originally came in after a cancelation of a surgery. I had looked into this place a little and took the reviews half heartedly since this company has been in business for over 20 years. Their advertisement states 60 years. I was grateful they took my pet in. But later would come to regret. - After drop off, mid day they called me, and advised me that they thought she had cancer, so they will be X raying her head, and also that there is nothing they could do if this is the case. This traumatized me, and had to call a family member to calm me down at work. At the end of the day, they called me and told me they didnt find cancer an that it was a bite on side of the face and they lanced the abcess and took a tooth out. I went to pick her up - All communication was only the front desk. Including the exam, and surgery. When they advised me it was a bite once in the office I questioned it, because I work from home, and live in a small place, as well as know how my pets interact - They simply restated it was a bite. I, at the time, after the Rollercoaster of stress I went through, was just grateful, paid them in full and left. Close to 1500 for the work. After she finished the antibiotics the abcess came back, I asked them if they had opening - they were scheduled 2 weeks out, I advised the access is back, the front desk once again stated they thought it was cancer! I did not respond, and advised I can't wait 2 weeks and stated that they would need to send records over to another Vet. Monarch Vet hospital, where He was caring, looked her over. Unfortately my cat had to have surgery again! This Vet found next to the 1 tooth Alta drilled out, 3 others very infected. He took those out. He expressed to me his concern of the canine tooth, that it possibly is a issue, but advised needed specialist if the abcess comes back. BY The way not only was the service quick but very caring, and straight forward with problems he saw. I then ended up looking for a specialty vet on dental. Again... abcess came back. In the end I went to Vista Vet. Very thorough, very caring. And directly spoke to vet. I had did my own research late in the game and found that its extremely common for a abcess on both cat and dogs to appear under the eye, when its infected and that the canine has to be taken out in order to get rid of it. Several thousand dollars later... on last surgery, they had to remove roots that were left. At this point I felt the 1st Vet had NOT did a thorough job, nor communicated with me at all. I addressed I felt I should be refunded. An I was Not. Be warned. Not only did they do the minimum, but charged high, and had no communication with the Vet directly. Never going here again.
